Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes-Norton is in her thirteenth term as the Congresswoman for the District of Columbia. She came to Congress as a national figure who had been a civil rights and feminist leader, tenured Professor of Law, and board member of three Fortune 500 companies.
Norton, who is also co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Black Men and Boys, is dedicated to finding ways to ensure assistance for returning citizens to the District of Columbia as they transition back to society, including federal inmates from D.C. whose sentences were retroactively reduced last year by the U.S. Sentencing Commission.
