Tony Lewis has a book out called “Slugg: A Boy’s Life in the Age of Mass Incarceration”. He often volunteers at schools to teach kids in the communities what his father taught him about not going into a life of crime.
Tony’s father was sentenced to life in prison when he was 9 years old, they still have a very close relationship. Today Tony is a community activist trying to raise awareness of the negative effects of mass incarceration, especially on the children of incarcerated parents. Tony hopes his father will one day get out of prison and spend time with his granddaughter.
